Here is another option for bleeding a cooling system. I have never used it on my '96 328is but I have used it successfully on my '94 Maxda RX-7. The funnel comes with two different sized fittings that should fit snugly into just about any radiator or coolant reservoir opening. This helps avoid having hot coolant spilling out if the radiator or reservoir overflow. It is available from many online vendors. I got mine at Tooldesk.com.
