window problems
hey everyone
have a problem with my drivers window when you close the door it goes up and down rapidly as if i was opening the door and closing it i feel it is the door closed switch can anyone tell me where i could find this and is it part of the lock
you obviously have a coupe, I have a sedan and mine doesnt have that option. I would say that it has to have a sensor next to the door catch/ locking mechanism. not really sure just a guess.

the microswitch responsible for venting and sealing the window is located in the striker on the door sill.

Spray some CRC Switch cleaner lubricant into the door striker/microswitch area first. The re-initialise the venting feature by turning the ignition switch on (dash lights on but engine not running), fully lower the offending window, then fully raise it and hold the switch to raise the window for at least 5 seconds after the window has closed. This procedure worked well on my E36 and I haven't had a second of trouble with it since.
