Shift Knobs

Time for a new shift knob. I'm leaning towards OEM although the aftermarket carbon knobs intrigue me. I notice Momo's are universal fit. I know I can trust Momo, can I trust other "universal fit" knobs? Anybody have any opinions? Photos? Links?

This looks interesting. Anybody have one of these? They're 3x as heavy as stock.

The e46 330 zhp shift knobs are very popular. They are oem, and weighted. They are also shorter in length than the stock e36 shift knobs. Last time I checked them out I think they were around $55-60 shipped.

Ah, yes. I've heard this somewhere else. I decided to go with something different altogether and am ordering a Whalen Shift Machine knob tomorrow. I'm having it customized. It will look like this without the "6" and be bead blasted instead of polished and brushed. Opinions?

This is an example of bead blasted.

I'm trying to imagine what it will look like bead blasted. I'm hoping to kinda match my paint too. The polished knobs show scratches after use and I'm not a fan of the brushed, so bead blasted seemed the obvious choice.

my friend had a 300zx and he put a knob in it like that and he said it was hot as crap during the summer, so hot, he could barely touch it. he tried to keep it cool by keeping a rag on it, but it didnt work enough.

as a matter a fact, it was madagi, a member here!

That's another reason I'm going with the bead blasted version. Also, I am relentless when it comes to parking in shade. Just ask my family. I have my kids trained to automatically start looking for the best shady space as soon as we drive into a parking lot during summer.
