Rear end Help!
Ok, when i stomp on the gas in my 325I my car kinda learches backwards from the acceleration! I believe the tire is rubbing on the rear well. Could that be from bad shocks/Springs or could it be from something else?
It is the rear trailing arm bushings! This same thing happen to me! Grab the wheel well & shake the car side to side you will hear a banging sound coming from in front of the rear tires! When the bushings go bad, they slide out of the trailing arm & then the trailing arm starts to rub up against the frame of the car, also misaligning the rear axle, hence the rear tires rubbing in wheel well during accelaration.
Took me about 2 hours to replace them, you will need a puller set, you can rent for free @ advanced autoparts. You will also need a drill. Bavarian Autosport & Turner motorsport carry them!!!! Here is a nice DIY to help you:
Good luck,

The trailing arm bushings are a common problem with the e36's!
Bavarian Autosport sells the upgraded bushings for $26.95 each
If your car is feeling "loose" going around corners or on acceleration, you may need to replace these bushings. These are the stock trailing arm bushings for the M3 -- that are also an upgrade for all non-M 3 series that hold up better than the original bushings. Sold individually. Each car requires 2. Please note: Upgrade to the M3 bushing! http://files.unitedbimmer.com/ub.c/j...3322228153.jpg

My car did the exact same thing from learching backwards, to the tire rubbing!!! With the picture below check the trailing arm for looseness, not the bolt!!!

check your shock tower mounts also. That shouldnt cause the lurching, but it will cause a thump over bumps
