What bolt am I missing?

I've only had a BMW for 2 months now so I'm still learning. While looking around under the car yesterday I came across a missing bolt. It looks like it's some sort of brace for the transmission. Can someone tell me exactly what it is and what size bolt I need to replace it.

This is why I like doing my own work on my cars. Mechanics don't care as much. Time = money to them.

Anyone with an M44 willing to climb under your car and take a gander, or more to the point take out the bolt and measure it for me?

I have no idea where that is on the car. I'd check out RealOEM.com if I were you.

That's a great site. I've used it for other parts. Indespensible. I've searched for hours without success in this case.

That's a good guess, but the bolt is going the wrong way I think and there's no bracket to confirm. Maybe it's just how they are depicting it.

I'll get a better photo showing more of the underside. Hopefully that will help.

Thanks everyone for taking a look. It's a big bolt and I'm worried about doing major damage. Fortunately/Unfortunately I'm not even driving my car due to radical misfires. I have a post or two on that...

Could it be a dowel pin that is missing, check inside the hole to see if there are any threads. Also check opposite side:
