Timing Chain Tensioner

Can a failed timing chain tensioner cause random misfires?

Misfires would seem more of an ignition or fuel issue I think.

Right. I'm throwing a P0300 code and I found this info on the net...

A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Faulty spark plugs or coil rubbers
Faulty coils
Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
Faulty fuel injector(s)
Burned exhaust valve
Faulty catalytic converter(s)
Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages
Faulty camshaft position sensor
Defective computer

I know my timing chain tensioner is bad and was wondering if that could cause the misfires. Plugs are new, OS Sensors are new. How do I check for a blocked EGR Valve? What are the coils on a BMW? Is that the black box the plugs go into?

so you have to chk the following
spark plug, ignition coils , wires, also the fuel pump, any by the way you have to make sure that the pressure of fuel pump is strong enough coz some times it runs but the pressure is not enough to deliver gasoline. to injectors
