whistling

Hey everyone,

when I first start the engine I hear a whistling from the front of the car and when I close the door I also hear the same thing. after it warms up it stops. I opened the hood and listened and it sounds like its coming from around the alternator. Could it be the pulley? Any suggestions? 95 325is 115k miles

it is a sqeak or a whistle.

it might be a vacuum line? unless you think it sounds like a bad belt. If so check them.

also maybe check your alternator? Might be going out and thats the noise?

I thought it has to something with the belts also but they were recently changed. if the vacum lines were no good the car would not drive as well? It may be the alternator cause when I put my ear close to it it sounds louder than usual.
Thanks for your help

that's the same thing with my other car 320i 92, it sounds like that. It seems comming from the alternator. But it charg well, I'm not sure what is that mean. I have this problem sence 3 years.
