you can dye it, but youd be better off buying new seats, it'd just be easier, then sell your current ones, except i dont know if BMW has dark brown leather(or really, any car)

I've seen dark brown leather, but I believe it was a special order, probably from BMW Individual, and it wasn't on an E36. So if you want dark brown, dying might be your only chance.

i wouldn't dye it..... im sure your seats are worn and the spots that are more worn will absorb more making them appear to be darker....... just buy new ones

you can have them rewrapped at an upholstery shop for 500 - 700 dollars. Or you can just dye them, just make sure you take the time to prep the leather before dyeing it or you will have serious problems.

Do the seats need to be removed for the people doing the re-wrap? Have you had this done?

Thanks, I wanted to suede my seats too but I have youngsters and the leather was a much more logical choice.

For about 700-800 you can get your seats redone at just about any upholstery/custom shop. Too bad you arent in Colorado, I could hook you up.
