poor idling

I have a e36 328ic (m52). I always run 93 octane.

It runs great, always has, but since I filled up at a less-than-quality gas station (I wasn't thinking clearly at the time!)--"South of the Border" at the nc/sc border, she hasn't idled well.

I tried refilling her with 93 from shell and putting in a whole bottle of stp fuel injector cleaner and a whole bottle of stp gas treatment, which stopped the problem, however I got down around a half-tank tonight and when I pulled into my apartment she started doing it again. Is there a way to clean all the crap out of my gas tank, without physically removing my gas tank? Please help me...

the minimum octain for ur car is 95 .. less than that will coz problem first thing damage is the fuel pump then injectors so i advice u to change the fuel filter then fill the tank with fuel with minimum octain 95 (95 octain is the best no more no less ), then drive ur car for long distances after 4 days it will act idel

maybe ur fuel pump affected means its pressure is not good so u need to replace it ...

^I dont know where you are but we don't have 95 in the states. Your Problem might be a vacum leak or a problem with the MAF sensor.

As far as the manual is concerned, the lowest octane is 89. In CA we have 87, 89 and 91. What brand of gas did you use? BMW recommends top tier gas brands ie Shell, Chevron and Union 76 among others.

BMW does not recommend additives. If I were you, I'd put a few tanks of your usual 93 in and see how it goes. Just be careful not to run the tank too low, this could damage the fuel pump. Good luck.

Total shot in the dark, but when my bike starts running crappy like that, I run some Sta-Bil through the tank to get it working fine again. You might have water in the gas or some other crap, I don't know.
