Good Luck Mark and I hope you find the CAI you are looking for. I am not going to be able to reply in this thread any longer as it is pointless to argue with someone who is convinced that his product is superior to anything out there and refuses to use logic.

Smile Peace! pswirley!

Hey! pswirley, I apologize, I don't think that the AFE CAI is Superior in any way, & I do agree with you, it is still kind of pricey!!! I liked the way it fit in place of the stock air box & compared to the others that fit in the place of the stock air box. The price was right for me!! I actually found this mod after I purchased the afe & I was like wow, I could of done that!!! Check it out>>>>

Check it out>>>> http://home.comcast.net/~matthew.c.s...cais/index.htm

Peace!! pswirley!

p.s. That original write up on the AFE CAI was copied & pasted from the Bavarian Autosport site.

Treaty agreed to. I have seen that write up before and it is a good one. That home made heat shield looks as good as my ECIS. Here is my set up.

re: pswirley:"afe" $150.00 Extra, For Plastic Intake Hose!!!

re: pswirley
I see what you mean about me overpaying for an intake, your intake does not look much different than mine!!!

I mean full intake as in a 3.5" intake, 3.5" hfm, big bore throttle body, with a silicone boot, etc.

Thanks pswirley, I got extra blackout wheel roundels from http://www.europeanautosource.com/in...ath=67_177_187 & the Shadow 328i emblem from http://jlevistreetwerks.com/BMW/c30/...b4741ec3714ae3 & I just wipe it down with a little tire shine, every time I wash the car.

I went out and spent 40 bucks on ebay for an off brand intake. Throw out the filter and buy yourself a k&n filter. Buy a heat shield. I think this setup in the engine compartment is a better idea because you dont have to worry about any hydro lock issues with sucking any water into it.

If you want your car to be faster, might as well save for a faster car.
