Sunroof Problems

Hey whats up, just bought my first bmw, its a 320i e36 1993 needs a bit of attention, which i hope to do myself, havin A bit of trouble with the sunroof the inner part came off the rails and got stuck inside the roof when I opened it up fully, I fished it back out but if I open it, it gets stuck again also it wont tilt anymore any ideas on whats gone wrong and how i can fix it,

One thing I know about the sunroof is there is a manual open and close mechanism. From my 97 Owner's Manual...

Sliding/tilt sunroof

1. Press out the interior lamp with a
screwdriver at the left recess.

2. Remove the cover panel.

3. Remove the Allen wrench from the
onboard tool kit, insert it in the hexagon
head (arrow 1) and turn the sliding/
tilt sunroof in the desired
direction.

4. Turning is easier if the plug
(arrow 2) is pulled out beforehand.

At least that might make it easier for you to help get it back on track.
