1998 cut out when hot 318i m43 HELP !!!!
i have a 1996 318i and have recently had a problem with it cutting out when up to operating temp??? i have replaced coolant temp sensor and repaired a slit in air hose from filter (air flow meter ) to throtle body ,, but the problem still remains i have also noticed that before it cuts out it only runs on 2 cyclinders 2 and 4 .... i have checked no,s 1 and 3 after cut out and spark plugs are soaked in fuel. if i clean and dry them put them back in and let it cool down it starts again runs for approx 5 to 10 mins then splutters and dies again.

Sounds like worn piston rings or valve guide oil seals.
