Is it normal for heat to come out of the little non-adjustable vent upper right of the drivers side dashboard?

My mistake. As you're sitting in the driver's seat, it's upper left. There is also a larger one on the passenger's side, uppper right corner. What do you mean by de-mist? Like defroster?

I have heat coming out when the blowers (fan) are off. It's not much, but it's definitely heat.

Seems odd. Do all the e36's do this or is it a BMW thing across the board?
