new member, question for California residents

Hello,

I have a 1998 328I (5-speed), and I was considering putting a Conforti performance chip in it. However, when I spoke to my mechanic, he told me that I should reconsider. See, I am planning on moving out to California, he knows this, and he said that this chip requires 93 octane, and 91 is all that is available out there. Can anyone confirm this information? Will I have to remove the chip if I move out to LaLa Land?

Thanks,
GoNolzOhio

From what I hear, there are some 76 Stations here that sell 100 as well as 93 octane.

umm...where in CA?

No where in the b ay area do they really sell 100 octane gas. and 93 is very rare..I see it at the oregon/CA border but no where else.

as far as Southern California i think its the same.

You can buy airplane fuel..106 octane.

I've had the conforti flash on my 1996 328i for 4+ years and have filled with 91 octane consistently, sometime 100 for gigglez and have not had a problem. 91 octane is the minimum octane for the conforti flash.
