Wheel bearing

How much should I expect to pay for replacing my front driverside wheel bearing. The shop said it would probably take 2 or 3 hours labor @$50 an hour plus parts.

I'm figuring around $300, sound about right?

I have paid about $275-$300 per each wheel bearing to get changed, I am approaching #3 for the year shortly. I have always been led to believe that you need some more specialized tools to get them changed, which is why I have not attempted to do them myself.

It's actually a pretty difficult job. It's something that most DIY'ers pay somebody to do and consider themselves lucky. I believe the tool costs as much as what the dealer charges for the work for 1 of them.

If it was my car, I'd do it myself though.
