rev counter and reverse lights - United Bimmer Community

hi all, not been on here for a while again. can see everyone has been keeping up the good work and dishing out those all important tips etc!

please can anyone help on the following?

1) rev counter keeps sticking but no problems with idle etc.needle jumps in stages quite often. not a big deal but annoying!

2)i do not have any reverse lights and the following have been checked:
fuses, bulbs/lamps and reverse switch is ok. been advised that its a loom fault but that person not had time to look unfortunatly.where do i start with loom? nights are drawing in and its only a matter of time before i get pulled over!

Open the trunk.. There is s group of wires going from the car to the trunk lid. Pull the grommet out and pull it back to expose the wires. You should see some wear on the wires where they bend with the trunk lid. If any are broke just solder them back and shrinkwrap.
