92 325 i sedan weird bogging down on exell.
i got this 92 325i sedan to add to my collection for a thousand bucks .so i know i took a risk . ive brought five others of other years back to life .but this one has got me stumped .first let me tell you what it does and what ive replaced so far .this problem only happens when it feels like it with no ryme or reason no pattern found at all .when you go to exell the car somtimes completley looses power kinda like a bogging feeling if you let of the gas it comes back ? on top of that if your moving at a slow speed say thru store parking lot the car will just die no sputtering just dies clean .also the car if let idling somtimes the rpms just drop almost to zero then jumps back up most the time somtimes it just dies. know mabe this all the same problem .only check engine code i get is 02 sensor now on to what ive replaced started simple replace 02 sensor of course replaced fuel filter ,alternater ,dme brain ,still does all above minus check engine light?.if anybody has any idea or has had this problem please respond any ideas of what my next move should be minus junking the car let me know i hate giving up on bimmers so that is not option .thanks::

you could clean the mass airflow sensor and see if that helps at all
im not sure if these cars have an auxiliary air regulator like my vw does but that might be something to check into

i think thats my next less costly thing
yea i think there my be a few things wrong not just one i think thats my next less costly thing to is the spark plugs it just dont feel like im missing but it could very well be .that is the first thing to do anyways when getting a car to fix up just got side tracked trying to figure this all out. wouldnt that be great if that was it .might be one of the coil packs to each spark plug has a coil.that shits on top held on by two 10mm nuts with a long boot that goes over the plug but you probley know that already .i will go ahead and do that tomorrow .thanks
To check if the MAF sensor is working properly, disconnect it from the airbox side so you can look into the sensor from the front of the car. When you shut the car off, the heating element should glow brightly within 4 seconds. It does this to clean the element each time the car is turned off. If it doesn't glow, then you know you need a new one.
I suspect however that your problem is a vacuum leak. Check the intake boot between the MAF and the throttle plate housing. If there are cracks in the rubber inside or out, then replace it. Check all your air hoses for leaks. Lastly, have you cleaned the idle control valve?
