oh btw. seeing as i am having the same issues as you.

I had my rear end checked out on my 318, turns out my rear Subframe bushings are shot.

that might be your issue?

I understand they stiffen the suspension in some way which would be cool, do I need/can I use shims if I get poly bushes?

presumably the shims would be supplied by my bmw main dealer?
