E36 Power electric windows

I've found this piece of information searching through this site, but as yet I haven't attempted to do anything about it.

"Power windows sometimes behave erratically, moving up or down only in 1” increments. This is attributed to a magnet on the motor shaft falling out of position. The magnet can be moved back into position to correct this problem."

Can anyone offer any assistance, help or advice if they've experienced this type of problem before????

I don't know what your talking about but it sounds like your window actuator has gone out. A common problem, but also an easy one. Actuators are like 120 from the dealer, 90 from pelican parts.
