Question Is jiffy Lube safe for our cars?

Just wondering. 96' 328i. Jiffy lube has special buy one get one free oil (full synthetic).
Is it safe to go at Jiffy Lube or just stick to the dealer?

Appreciate any inputs.

Thnaks

They may have the filter, but they may not have the correct o-rings and crush rings for the job. It's a crapshoot. If you're gonna have them do it, I would suggest providing them with the filter kit, which will have everything they need to do the job right.

Why not just do it yourself? You don't even need to get under the car if you buy one of these.

not worth saving the $10 to have some place like that do it. buy the parts from ure bmw dealer or online and do it ureself....acutally ure going to need to have the lights reset, unless u have that tool you will have to go to the dealership.

i used to work at a lube shop so i get it done there cause i used to know all the guys.

Saves a couple bucks, then i just go to the dealer and they reset it for me right then and there if there not super busy.

Wow, am I the only one who had an ok experience with Jiffy Lube?

I've only done it once, when I was in a pinch, but everything was fine. I do agree that it's really not worth the $10-$20 you save, though.

Thank you all. As always, very good advice on this site.
I think I'll pass the Jiffy Lube and stick to my regular dealer.

some of those places also overtighten your drain plug, so it ends up snapping when you try to take it out, or they strip the bolt head.

Dealer service does have an advantage in working and knowing the same cars.
