how do I read ABS fault codes

My ASC and ABS lights will come on intermittantly. When they are out ABS and ASC to work I tried them. I suspect I'm loosing a wheel sensor. How do I retrieve fault codes, I dont think I can get the from the engine code reader. Any help on this.

I thought the engine code reader read that as a code also?

No it doesn't. Those fault codes are stored in the ABS control module. Unfortunately they can only be retrieved by an authorized service center

Here's what I found and found it. I disconnected the elec. plug on the ABS and ASC box and ran a resistance check to each monopole
(wheel speed sensor). I compared the resistances 3 measured 1.111K the forth measured 30,000m. So with that I going for the left front monopole. The computer sees this and goes to fail safe ABS and ASC light comes on, back to conventional braking.
I'll let you know how it turns out.

Fixed it, it was a front wheel sensor. They are a real treat to remove.
The job is done and both ABS and ASC lights went out after a short drive.

Could someone tell me where the wheel speed sensor is located? Both the ASC and ABS lights have been on constantly whenever I drive the car, for the past four days or so, which is something new, have never had this happen before. I haven't done any recent brake or wheel work, the brake fluid is only a year old, and the only thing I did was wash the wheels prior to this happening, so maybe somehow kinda the sensor got wet, although why this hadn't occurred before in the rain is an oddity...

The wheel speed sensor is located at the hub of each wheel, by the brake assembly. Check the wires to make sure they are'nt damaged. If they appear ok then I'd check all 4 with a meter at the computer.

Thanks for that. I suspect it's just a loose connection, or something in need of some cleaning. Of course, it's raining now, so checking it out will have to wait...
