Sorry to hear that Amanda, such a shame, I know you had your heart set on getting that car fixed and the motorcycle.
edit; make sure the guys at the garage aren't trying to rip you off, you know the scenario, lady owner , knows jack about cars (they think), lets stitch her up..............it happens.
that really cant be true, i mean your car was running just fine one day until this happened, which means something is wrong with it(ONE thing), things just dont blow up, unless you abuse it or something
trust me, its not a mess, its just a mess to figure out whats wrong with it

I took the car apart before I went on vacation for a week to replace two fuel hoses. Had to take the intake off. Turned it over and fuel dumped out of everywhere. Gay. Replaced the fuel pressure regulator after I got back from vacation. Turned it over. No fuel, shitty idle, no pedal response. Gayer. Looked and looked and looked for a week. Checked every hose, every electrical connection. Finally gave up and took it to a shop.
The problem?
The first time I put the intake back on, I put the bracket for the idle control valve in between the upper and lower intake manifolds, ripping the gasket. I wasn't thinking and just smashed it in there. I was so concentrated on the hoses being a source for vacuum leaks, that I didn't even check the gaskets. Also, on top of that, once they got the car running and up to pressure, the fuel started leaking again. Spraying this time. I couldn't find the Bosch fuel injection hose clamps like Jami told me to use so I put on regular ones. They broke. I'm stupid.
So basically, this was all my fault. I knew that there was a reason that I didn't write a DIY for this.
Also, since I cleaned the ICV and the throttle body (and got some new hoses), my car runs so smooth! When it's stopped, I think that the car turned off. Nice. I also replaced my microfilter (thanks Dudesky!). It had never been replaced, and my A/C was not very cold before... but now, well, let's just say that my ear is FROZEN.
