Hello first, ub's a great site.
I finally bought a used Bimmer, crapload of miles on it (297k) but it's in great shape, the engine is still strong and most of the parts that are worn out I'd rather upgrade, and I hate throwing away good parts.
I've been doing some googling to see what's out there, but would rather hear first hand experience.
First priority is suspension, brakes will get a good look at the same time. Needs a lot of help. I can turn my own wrenches, will take it to a shop for alignment, looking for advice on best parts to use. When the suspension is fixed it'll be very driveable.
Next will be motor / intake / exhaust, same deal. I only paid 3500 for the car, wholesale book is 5200, so I have some cash for upgrades. I realize the cabrio isn't the best choice for handling, but I'm a ragtop guy.

Great car, no doubt. the convertibles are awesome, the only thing i'd suggest is to get the wind breaker that goes over top of the back seats. Other than that, get the car checked from top to bottom, since you got it that cheap, it's definitely worth looking into the condition of the car.

they are expensive, but have tons of parts. the sight is a good starting point to give you an idea of what's out there. 'suspension' is kind of vague, but if you are looking for shocks and springs bavauto has their springs mated with bilstein sports for about 660.00.
congratulations on the car.
