code

I installed my intake yesterday. After that my radio would not work and was asking me for a code. I dont know this code and the previous owner said it was what was in the manual. I tried 1234 but the alarm went off and the engine locked. I reset the battery so i got the engine to work but still no radio . Any suggestions?

You may need to contact a dealer or BMW.

The radio code would have been included with the packet of booklets including the owner's manual, service record, etc. The 5-digit code would have been on two credit card-like enclosures; the code is entered whenever the power is disrupted to the car. If it can't be found, I believe the dealer can retrieve it, but I heard one ungodly story that the dealers have to submit the request to Germany. I'm not sure if that holds true nowadays.

your code is a 5 digit # - it should be with your owners manuals (usually a grey sticker) if not,you need to go to a BMW dealer, they will pull the radio, get the serial # off it and then run that # for your code. If you do have the code enter it until you hear the beep- * if you hear the beep anywhere along entering the code RESTART entering at that point.
*TIP - once you get the code write it down in your trunk lid toolbox under one of the wrenches.
