The time has come

Well, as fate would have it, the time has come to end my relationship with this 325i It's so bittersweet and I'm saddened that I couldn't make this work a little longer. But I promised myself that if I couldn't get her to pass inspection with a new cat, coils, and O2 sensor, enough was gonna be enough. I've spent entirely too much time & money trying to restore this car, but on the brighter side, it's given me the best 2-1/2yrs of driving pleasure in my life.

I never actually made it to inspection. I spent all of the 4th of July under the car wrestling with the cat pipes . . they weren't bent correctly and wouldn't match the exhaust manifold flanges. I barely got them on, but when I fired the car up, it sounded like shit from exhaust leaks where the flanges meet. Now I'm just too tired of it and I have no intention of messing with it again. That is, if I can even get the thing off again. I also have a suspicion that this repair wasn't gonna get me passed anyway.

So right now, the car's just sitting in the garage; I haven't figured out how I'm gonna get rid of it. If anyone is interested in my brand new Bavauto performance ignition coils, PM me . . I'm looking for $220 shipped anywhere in the US.

Sounds like a good reason to get the 135i..... But still sad to hear. Are you going to get a new or used car?

Yea, I could make another go at it with this car, but it just doesn't make sense to me anymore.

My plan was to make this last another two yrs before getting an e92 after switching careers, so this comes at a bad time. I guess the fallback is to look for an e39, but I'm still not convinced I should spend that much only for a couple of years. It's gonna be a couple of weeks yet, as I don't have much time on my hands at the moment; working 65hr work weeks lately, on top of that I'm trying to finish up a course. I spotted this, but I'm not so hot on the asking price, and I haven't had time to go and look at it yet.

That sucks man. Can you rely on transit to get you by until you find another ride?
