I'd like to have inner-city curcuit race tracks at night, professionally organized and supervized, with professionally blocked roads and legal racing...
that'd be cool
I'd be willing to pay a lot of money for that...

IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!!!!
my question is......how is it dangerous to race on a straight road, at night, with perfect visibility of many miles in each direction and no soul anywhere nearby. The only 2 people involved would be me and the guy driving the other car. We both are willing to take the risk. The only bystanders at the starting line.
I UNDERSTAND THAT OVER IN THE STATES< THEY HAVE 10000 DOLLAR FINES FOR SHIT SH*T, BUT HERE IN CANADA ITS ONLY A 400 DOLLAR SLAP ON THE WRIST. anyway, i agree that gouing 150 in a 50km zone (residential strets) is bad, BUT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH DOING A QUARTER MILE ON A COMPLETELY DESERTED STRIP. I AINT GONNA pAY THE 25 BUCKS TO DO 5 RUNS ON THE REAL DRAG STRIP.....AND HAVE ALL MY FRIENDS PAY THE SAME THING. FU(K THAT.

It is the same danger as when people are around. Obviously, you have alot of growing up to do and like people say, it takes a life altering experience for someone to understand the consequences of their actions.

Responsible people understand the dangers inherited when thinking about doing something illegal, like street racing illegaly, regardless of the bystanders or nobody being around. When you or your so called friends that say fu$% that and kill or injure someone I hope you guys are men enough to stand in front of the Judge or Family of the person you kill or injure and tell them what is highlighted.

I have nothing else to say on the matter. I won't be the one getting the fine or other actions that can come about from causing something people will regret.

you're not going to pay to go to a drag strip and do it legally? Well umm whatever I guess go drag race and if you do hit anyone then have that on your conscience for the rest of your life, and I doubt you have visibility for miles.

I have to say, you guys have some point...
but I can't really say anything, I've never REALLY been street racing, german country roads aren't good for that and I don't want to ruin my engine on the Autobahn or get my license taken away and paying 450 Euro for speeding over 14 miles within city limits

Your German and your complaining about nowhere to race? German autobahn is like.....god. A little High RPM's shouldn't hurt your engine.

yeah I guess your kinda right about driving fast being bad for your engine and stuff, but it's still fun as long as the road your doing it on can handle the speed. We have some pretty straight highways here in the prairies, and even doing 200+kms/hr you feel extremely safe.....and sleepy.

yeah I hate driving on US highways
it gets you drowsy
no wonder you americans always crash into police cruisers, being woke up by the flashing lights and torn out of your cruise-controlled dreams...
I wonder why the Autobahn is one of the safest highways on the earth

i dont think i've ever seen a thread get so far off topic haha.

Maxim, i have the conforti intake, a lot like the one in the first picture. its pretty cool. like everyone has been saying, adding a scoop pry wont do much and isnt worth the $$$, fabrication, and time.

if you wanna drag race only thats cool, just know that it isnt the best idea to do it on the streets. i think you have/can figure that out sooner or later. AND that type of racing wasnt the driving factor when bmw was producing these cars. if you want more power you are going to have to start dropping a lot more $$$. thats just how it is w/ bmws. thats exaclty the reason i have only ever bought an intake and exahust, which really in the long run probably have yielded 5-10 hp if that.

here's an idea. Gut everything in your car until you see metal :P, take it out at night with only the driver seat in there and you will probably win a lot more by doing that rather than putting a scoop on your car + a CAI. power to weight ratio is where its at.

Ask any racer. Any real racer. It don't matter if you win by an inch or a mile. Winning's winning. hahah sorry i had to. im not giving u a hard time man, just the low-down

my $.02 i hope that helps.

There are tracks for both types of racing. They are also equipped for fire hazards, accidents & have safety people. Plus they require safety equipment like a helmet,etc... - not some bubble headed bitch in the passenger seat. If you need to get laid so, bad get a whore.

dont mess with c1apton, and racing is not cool
smilies make the world turn! lol
