E36General discussion and technical help for (E36) 1992-1999 3 series cars. 318, 323, 325, 328.
does anybody know if there will be any problems with using 96+m3 control arms and bushings? will it change the suspension in a good or bad way? are there any other parts that should be installed with these? thanks
User not setup in Rate My Car. Click here to set it up.
I recently had to replace my control arms...so I put m3 ones in. The steering is a TAD bit tighter, but it's so slight it could be placebo. The only reason I did it is becuase my old control arms were busted. I wouldn't recommend it unless you have to replace them.
did you get the 96-99 control arms?
did you get the 96-99 bushings as well?
if so did you get the 96-99 strut hats?
the reason i ask is that is just had the 96-99 m3 control arms and bushings installed and then came accross some material that says this setup will create too much caster unless the offset 96+ strut hats are used as well. apperently this will also create too much oversteer.
deloriant have you noticed any negative effects from this setup without the strut hats?
i am going to pick up my car from getting the allignment done right away here and am wondering whether i should be ordering the strut hats.
