Window Motor replacement ????
Going to replace the window motor, drivers side tonight.
I have no problem doing the change out, but my question is should the window be up or down when I plug in the wiring, what tells the motor to stop at the bottom or the top? are there limit switches at the top and bottom? the motor is the type that drops a inch or so when you open the door and goes back up when the door is closed. I know how to initialize the window once it is in, I was just concerned for the first time power up of the motor. The old motor (now in peices) looks as though it had a type of encoder on to to monitor the windows location.
Anyone do this before?
Thanks
Jon

Well the motor replacement was not to bad, put to motor in and plugged in the wires and it would only go down, just a click when the up button was pushed,
I took an old cord that plugged into the ciggarette lighter and put some female crimp ends on it and them wired to the motor and ran it to the top. Then closed the door and ran through the initialization sequence and done, it worked perfectly,
Drops the 1/2 inch when the door is open and closes the 1/2 inch when the door s closed. After not getting any response to this issue, If I can be of help to anyone else doing this feel free to ask.
