328i tachometer light out
Hi all,
Newbie BMW owner here would appreciate a little advise on how to get the tachometer to light up the service lights come on when I start the car and then they go out (as per usual) however unless light is shone directly onto the LCD display the mileage is unreadable. Is there a bulb or LED that need changing or is it a dud LCD that is unrepairable?
Many thanks,

I've had a similar problem for a l-o-n-g time now, except in my case it's the lower half of the mileage digits that often don't illuminate, the top half does. As there are times when all the numbers display, I believe it has more to do with the connection than a bulb, but getting the instrument cluster out requires some fancy, and delicate, maneuvering to get at the thing. I understand it's easier to do if the car has an adjustable steering column, which mine doesn't .

Many thanks pal,
Yep I think if I get some chrome rings for the dials I may tinker with it then to see if I can remedy the situation as I have adjustable column .. woo!
Thanks for the heads up!
