Bav auto ignition coils?
Has anyone here done this? Is it worth the money? I've got a high milage E36 325i with a chip and CIA, and a slightly lean fuel/air mixture, would I really feel a difference in performance? Would I be better off with high performance ignition wires insted?

unless yours dont work properly you will notice no difference
Coils won't make much a difference. Taht kind of mod is only for those tryng to squeeze out every last bit of power possible -- like after you already have engine mods, forced induction, etc. Stay with OEM coils.
IF you HAVE to replace your coils, then, yes, go ahead and get them, but unless if you'r just replace them for hopes of performance ups, u'r wasting your money.
Umnitza now provides a mechanic to install all parts ordered right in the box! It's their new "Total customer service program" that will eliminate all the haters and keep incompetents from breaking **** and blaming the vendor! When you are all set simply call INS and they will pick him up free of charge.

I needed /wanted to replace my coils anyway, so I used these because they are less expensive than the OEM's. I had already installed a performance chip, a cold air induction, and general other regular maint/replacements, eg., belts, hoses. I use Bosch platinum 4 plugs. Many folks seem afraid of these, thinking one of the electrodes will fall off and be sucked into the engine. My neighbor is a BMW service tech, and says these plugs are used all the time without any trouble. Anyway, the description of the coils in question says the windings have been increased. Since coils are really a form of transformer--raising 12 volt to several thousand--there should be an expected increase in the secondary, or spark, voltage. Now, if your plugs are old, or fuel/air mix is not optimal, etc. the increased spark voltage may be noticed, with an improvement in engine performance. However, it may not be clear whether the 'improvemnt' is caused by new coils or by just having replace the plug to coil connector. If you've had oil leaks from the valve cover gasket into the plug wells, then these connectors may by leaking current providing less to the plug gaps themselves. In fact, over time, this kind of oil leak/spark leak will destroy the coil. So, I suppose it just comes down to whether one wants to spend the money. I don't have an unlimited budget, so I had to think about it a long time before I replace mine. My neighbor was no help, since he is devoted to OEM parts only. Hope this makes sense. I am glad I did the change. It may be only wishful thing on my part, but I to seen to recognize an improvment in engine performace while under load, eg uphill or accel. where internal cyl pressure would be higher.
Definitely an improvement, a solid, stable idle, and the throttle is a lot more responsive. My gas mileage seems to have picked up as well, by about 2-3mpg. However, I think the jury is still out. The coils I replaced were pretty old, so who's to say that I wouldn't have gotten the same improvements with new OEM coils? I do know that these BavAuto's are on sale, and that's why I got them.
On another note, I wonder why BavAuto stamped their logo on upside down?
