your opinion on parts?

Im looking to buying some parts for my current car 95' 325i. Im not sure what the popular brand out there is for tuning, but whats the low down on Dinan, ive seen it before on BMW so...take that for what thats worth. Once I sell my previous car Im looking at around $4,000 to be able to spend but of course im not going to blow it all at once, at least i dont think i will

First off I really dont want to do any major engine upgrades, because my car has about 158,000mi which i know is alot, but before it was givin to me it had a full on service and about any worn things were replaced...but thats what im thinking in this department.

Anyways im thinking of Performance engine chip, cold are intake, some exhaust. front strut brace.
Anybody got opinions?

I think you should blow the money all at once because you will have more fun with the car. In my opinion you should a turbo or supercharger to give it more power which means it will be more fun to drive

dinan is a pretty safe bet. however, from what i hear of the dinan chip (at least for the E30) you'd be better off finding something else. from what i HEAR, it isn't quite worth it. i'm not exactly sure what a good chip would be for the E36, however. i'm sure one of the MANY E36 guys can help you with that.

be sure to do intake and exhaust together - if more air is let in, more needs out and vice-versa. also be warned, if you are concerned about the lifespan of your car, considering how many miles are on it, intake will decrease the life of the engine. a cold-air intake is not as particular about the size of the particles it lets in, resulting in more wear on the engine.

strut brace sounds good to me, i've got one on the way (thanks elsabor!)

suspension might be something to look into as well. bilstein is the way to go there.

don't forget abuot styling, either. show us pics for help there.

a good website for parts is bavauto.com i also hear very good things about pelican parts.

hey trust me im so tempted to buy a turbo or supercharger, but there a little expensive...but maybe eventually. I keep thinking about how much fun the car would be to drive.

take a lesson from RSF5 - control before power. fun to drive doesn't mean just brute force. handling, control, agility. these three shall be the holy trinity of fun driving.

(but power is good, too)

here are a few pictures of the car...I really dont see me doing to much to the look of it. Maybe a M3 front and maybe paint the grey sides green, but nothing major. Oh yeah i need new fog lights, a rock broke one of them.

yeah, painting the sides is what i had in mind but wasn't sure if they were already painted. definitely do that. i like tint but i know some people don't. M front sounds good too. looks like you've pretty much got the styling figured out.

there are lots of upgrades and mods that you can do.. it would really depends on what kind you want plus the money that you have. there are lots of performance parts such as bmw performance chips that you can install to your ride. A good intake, and exhaust system would also be great. anyway, those are nice pics.. ::
