Shady driver...
who hit a parked car... my car!
Today, my car was parked at Starbucks and when I came back... I noticed that somebody had hit rear right side of my car. The bumper is fine... but the area around the gas door is damaged--I can't open the gas door at the moment. My guess is that a truck hit it while they were reversing and the person was wired on coffee. This sucks. I've had the car for 10 years without any dents... that streak ended today. Anyways...
How do you think I should open the gas door without breaking it??
i would pretty much assume that your going to have to open it and its going to break. of course this is without seeing it.
are you going to get it fixed? someone sideswiped me a couple years ago. i got a police report and reported it to my insurance and they fixed it. and my premium didnt go up. i have good insurance tho.

That fucking blows. I am the asshole that parks in two spaces in a parking lot with only 10 spaces to park or I park in the boonies of the lot. I would tap out from the inside to open the gas door. celsdogg has a good point to report to your insurance company and have them fix it, if it is worthwhile.

Thanks for the advice guys.
I haven't worked on it,yet, but I think I'm going to take out the rear right wheel off, then I'll try to pop out/bend the parts of the body that got hit....then see how that looks.
As for the gas door, I'll check out Stevo's idea. If it doesn't work I'll try to figure it out. What a waste of time and possibly money, thanks to that a$$hole. Haha, whatever. SH!T HAPPENS!!

Unfortunately, around here they're likely to key your car for doing that. I just park far away, or next to another Bimmer or Merc.
ClassicE36Bimmer: make sure you take good pictures first before you try anything. Better yet, if you can wait, let the insurance adjuster come and look at it before you mess with the damage.

Thanks dudesky.
Haha, yeah... I usually park far away too, unless I'm in a hurry.
That's the best way though... you even get a longer workout by walking a little farther!
