Your Ride: bmw E31
I hope you could stick some pictures sometime. I’m curious about how it would look like because I’m planning the same project. I already have the stuff, except for the BMW Belts, just about to order today. It would really help a lot. Anyways, thanks if you’d have the time.
Also bought some RedLine tranny and diff fluids, along with coolant for a flush and refill . . I spent the better part of last night driving around searching for a 14mm hex bit for the diff. Can't believe no one has it. Had to order it from McMaster, should be in Tue.
Also coming on Tue- a new fuel evaporative emission control valve and new charcoal canister. I'm thinking that may be why I failed emissions. I don't know if this is common knowledge, but I certainly didn't know it: whenever I fill up, I would let them top off the gas to the next dollar amount after the pump clicks to a stop. Apparently, this backs up the fuel evap system and clogs up the canister with excess liquid fuel, rendering it in ineffective . . down the line, that can cause your fuel pump & fuel pressure regulator to fail . . both of which I've replaced in the last year
Well, I'm off to tackle this clutch today . . if I post in in the rant section later, then you'll know things are going badly . .
Finally finished the clutch disc, pressure plate and throwout bearing- WOW what a difference! It catches so smoothly and with much less pedal effort than before. I used to get slight shuddering in 1st or 2nd here and there, but now no more. The BMW clutch disc was a POS, this Sachs is so much better, I didn't wanna stop driving tonight
I think I took enough pictures for a DIY, so that's coming soon . .
