Climate Control Failure
What up guys, i haven't been around for a while. I was driving across campus yesterday, the air was on medium temp and force (i guess thats what you would call it), and it randomly shut off, the lcd display went black and air stopped coming out of the vents. however, the lights on the sides; like the foot, defrost, face buttos were still lit up in green. a minute later it turned back on again. then i turned it to full air and it stayed on for 30 seconds and shut off yet again.....Have any of you heard of this happening before? if so, what would be the solution?:runaway

same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago, take a look here it might just save you a few $$.
http://www.macadamizer.com/bmwfix.html alternatively you could take your module to a good electrician and have it thoroughly checked over to see if there are any loose connections. |

Best advice i can offer ,if your module gives up totally take it to a reputable auto electrician along with a print out of the page i gave you the link for. If you attempt to fix the module yourself do not use a blade to remove the lacquer as it can damage the circuit board beyond repair, use nail varnish remover or paint stripper. I bought a replacement module from ebay £70 ($130), fitted and working no problems. Or if you look on ebay there might be one or two people who repair these units for a very reasonable price in your part of the world, there is in the uk. |
