I'm with RSF5, i thought it was for windows too. Don't tint the amber and tail lights. Looks better stock especially on a black bimmer too.

One other option is to order the smoked factory style.

A lot of members on other forums with black e36's, seem to smoked the ambers completely. They almost look black. I think what you are going to do is a bit different, cant wait to see some pics.
