6-cyl headers

has anyone here installed OBX headers, or any other headers? (specifically on a 325i sedan)
I'm thinking about purchasing some but want to know what kind of power increse and tourque decreases you get. Also, how difficult are they to install?

isnt obx that cheap shit on ebay?

Chad... 04-27-2007 02:00 PM

yeah, I'm 16 and only have $2500

c1apton 04-27-2007 02:19 PM

don't waste your money. BMW cast exhaust is pretty efficient. A better investment would be a chip, intake & CAI.

B_w. 04-27-2007 02:37 PM

if you want better flowing headers obd2 are an improvement over obd1. i have 2 pairs of obd2 headers sitting around...

From experience, save your money. Do you really need cheap headers? Nah. When you're older you'll look back and say, "Damn that was the stupidest thing I ever spent my money on."

I know, I've done it too much.

Good points, I already have a custom cold/ram air intake, M3 catback exhaust, a dinan chip, custom front strut bar, M3 springs, rotors, pads, and braided brake lines, and a pretty complete 98' conversion. So I guess I'll get a sterio or do an M3 styling conversion.

are they very effective?

94bmw325i 04-27-2007 05:58 PM

if you port them a bit more, yeah. You just have to weld something over one of the 02 sensors on it I think as it is an OBD 2 header.

The SS auto chrome headers dont seem that bad, there is a group buy on those, or something pretty similar over on bimmerforums. I was thinking about getting them if it is worth it..

i know they have to be slighly modified to work with obd1...i think it may just be having some of the o2 sensor bungs welded shut....obd2 has 4 o2 sensors vs 2? on obd1. other than that i believe everything else lines up the same.

ss auto chrome is junk...unless you can weld and repair them yourself when they crack dont buy em...as for how well they flow:confused

chris325i 04-28-2007 11:41 PM

anytime you open your exaust up it will always take away from your low end torque. however it will give you more in the top end. but if you get headers then dont get cheap ones. but i think everybody else already said that.
