1994 325IS Buying question (Canada)
It is 94 325IS, 250K Kilometer, manual
it is fully loaded i guess with everything. He has replaced, flex disc, front brake pads and rotors, left and right tire rod ends, rear upper shock mounts, drivers side window regulator, spark plugs, oxygen sensor, alternator, a/c belts, Front Wheel Bearings, and new plot tires. He is asking 6900 Canadian dollar. Should I buy ? What is it's average milage you can get form E36's Lifetime ? Now it is 250K KM what problem should I start looking into in the future ? If it is good to buy, what should I look into before I bu. Thanks guys |
Eh, that is okay I guess... Doing the conversions roughly to US units.
As long as it was treated well, it should last you, but it is the little things that will get to you. Just did my alternator... That was just about 600 dollars US. If it was a car to get you around for a few years and didn't plan on putting money into it, I would say it isn't the best bet for you. Sweet car though. |
$600 for an alternator:bawling wtf?
where in canada are you? you should be able to find a good e36 with way less mileage for a similar price. |

^^^It wasn't just the alternator. I believe Brien was totaling the whole ordeal, including a new battery and emergency flatbed service from out of town.

Still need some feedback for the origional thread question be answered, please help :drive2
Thanks:thanks |
It is not wise to buy a car with a very high mileage (250k or higher). But it does not mean low mileage is going to be a good car. Mileage count is not as important as the fact that it was accident-free and well maintained or with newly added parts like bmw oxygen sensor, window regulator, spark plugs and more. Check on the car history to avoid further fixing.
