92 BMW 318I Should I BuY? (Canada)

hello everyone, how's it going, it's been ages since i've been on this forum, my older brother drives the 02' BMW 325Ci, and lately my younger brother wants his own ride, so he's looking at a Black 92 BMW 318I, it has 230 Khm (Canadian kilometers) Standard, No Sunroof, No leather, The windows don't work, a bit of a crack to the taillight and front bumper, 2 set of wheels, winter and summer, clutch is good, he inspected the shocks/Springs are good, the engine doesn't look clean though, I should take a picture and show you guys, i usually read on, timing belt looks alright,

http://consumerguideauto.howstuffwor...8-bmw-318i.htm

to get all my information, he's asking $5900 (Canadian), when he fixes the windows, but the car is only worth $3,000 on consumerguideauto

i checked the VIN and it only has 3 reports, he only had it for 2 years bought if for $12,000 so he says... :P

If he goes down to $5,000 my younger brother who is 16 would buy it, he saved his pennies

so what do you think, i know it cost lots to fix the car, ai ya
the first thing i would want him to do is get a set of chrome rims,

thanks for your time guys later

Welcome back. I would definitely try to get the price down to at least $5k or lower. How much mileage is on it? I'm confused tho- the 1st link you have shows an E36, while the 2nd link shows wheels for an E30. Which is it? I know that for US models it should be an E36.

Thats too much for it with that list of problems. Chrome rims are not my cup of tea.

Dsky I agree it should be a e36.

$5k canadian is still a lot for that car, the way you have described the condition. Probably need a decent amount of maintenance, before you guys consider buying some wheels.

so the 2nd link showing the Motegi Rims aren't the right Bolt pattern, what is the bolt pattern anyways, and there's another 92 BMW 318I for sale here,

The E30's use 4x100, while the E36's use 5x120.

Sounds like a project car to me. And too high of an asking price for a project car.

And he bought it two years ago for $12000 (Can)??
Really? He over paid, I bought mine for on $3940 USD. (And yes, mine was a project car. It took 1.5 years to fix everything major and I'm still not done.)
