Thermostat Housing

I was going to do a coolant flush, and then i realized i might as well replace the thermostat, and since i was going to replace the thermostat i might as well get an aluminum housing(i know i know, chain reaction, one thing pulls another)

Anyway, i ordered the aluminum one from Bavauto, not bad, 25 bucks, it came today, its obviously just been poured into a molding b/c you can see all the edges are weird.. etc etc, however what really concerns me is that there is a hole that goes from both channels, it connects the coolant going into the engine from the coolant going out of the engine, now this hole is a bit sloppy but its definately no accident, i was wondering is this OK or should i replace it?

btw, the whole is probably .5-.75cm

Yea, the hole is supposed to be there. They're all the same, the housings aren't cleaned and polished well. Mine was the same thing. Just make sure you use a new gasket.
