. i suppose....but swapping out fluid on bmw's is an expensive ordeal. and .i dont think the fluid would cause the shifter handle to shake like that? since my car shifts fine, it just makes that weird noise

A fluid change is only expensive if you go to the dealer. I did mine a few weeks ago and it ran me about $35-40 for seal, filter, and fluid (plus shipping). Do it yourself, takes maybe half an hour (1st time) and saves $$

the reverse gear ratio is very different from your forward gears, actaully it is a little bigger than the 1st gear i think, but as an automatic, your car should always start out in second gear anyway, unless you floor it

change the fluid. That way if it DOESNT fix the problem, at least your fluids are changed plus, its one step closer to finding out what it is. Its not even worth continuing to guess until you start troubleshooting and narrowing things down

does it seem odd to you that it would vibrate a little bit? there are lots of moving parts so some vibration is normal...i wouldnt worry unless its actually sounds bad...change the fluids and see if that helps.

based on you past posting history it is easy to see that you over analyze stupid shit and make too many threads about it...

if you can just feel the vibration through the shifter its probably normal. does anything sound different?

no i mean yeah it's vibrating but u can hear it.. outside of the car too, it sounds like it's coming from under the handle. like it's hard to describe but it's like intermittent, like if U had a baseball card attached to your bicycle wheel? know what i mean?
but i mean it only does it when it's cold outside, and after driving for a lil bit it goes away?

i was thinking, my e-brake handle doesnt work anymore (as in when i pull it up it doesnt lock (the button is smashed in )
could this possibly have anything to do with it?
