E36 Thermostat temp ?
Hi gang, glad to have found this group.
As seems all too common, I have an overheating issue with my 95 325i. Before bleeding the system I want to replace the thermostat. Only question is, what's the correct 'stat temp for my daily driver?
Also, there'a s hell of a lot of stat manufactures. I know there's some less then reliable products out there. Is there any one brand that I should be using?
the rec. stat temp is 192-195 degrees. Any good brand name stat will work - I've had good luck with the ones from Bavauto / pelican parts.
you can use any temp t-stat . depending on your setup and needs.
I use a 75degree, it stays really cools, but if you drive in the winter/cold weather you wont have much heat. the closer you are to 92(stock) the better your fuel economy will be.
theres 75, 81, 88 and 92 degree t-stats available.
up to you really.
change your water pump while your at it!!
