Your description is way too broad. Three things make an engine run- fuel, air, and spark. Any number of things along those lines can cause your problem. Maybe start with your fuel filter. When's the last time it was changed?

is it a misfire? does the car wobble at idle?

agree first cheap call is replace fuel and air filter, then take the car for a plug in diagnostic test?

dudesky: could he do the old spark plug test by removing a coil lead one at a time, then when removal does not change the roughness of the running you know its that cylinder (1-6). ? Maybe this would hurt the ecu, I dont know.

I'm desperate for help on my ews issue if anybody can help (

Pete
