e36 328i coupe probs

hi
ive got a coupe that seems to be getting very firsty at the minute it uses £15-£20 to do 50 miles the car has always been serviced regularly and has never been neglected, the only mod it has is a k&n panel airfilter which has been oiled when serviced.
the engine sounds sweet and uses no oil or water at all(not contaminents in oil or expansion tank),ive noticed that the temp needle takes a while to move up lately but am going to put a new thermostat in it this wkend,i just cant understand why it uses so much fuel iam not even driving it eratically, maybe it could be the oxygen sensor who knows???
just thought i would ask for some advice first to see if anyones had this problem before, any help would be good

is your Service engine soon light on?

if so then you might have fault codes, meaning something is broken(basically) and its gonna cost some money to fix.

might be an O2 sensor? Maybe the gas you are using is no good?

otherwise..im not sure.

poorly beamer

hi, in the uk fuel is at about 99p(basically £1 sterling) a litre,i have used only top fuel in the car 99ron,it is useing 15-20 litres to do 50 miles, this is half motorway half town driving,it has only one green service light left on it now,i had it serviced about 7-8 months ago now, probably time to get it serviced again i just didnt know if it was going to be simple to fix as i dont really trust my cars with other people unless i know them, because usually you get a stupid bill at the end of it.

thanks anyway for all your help its much appreciated.
