Hi,
I have E36 325-95 Single VANOS, with Automatic Japan Transmission gearbox.
When I accelerate the car, there is resonably good torque until 3000 RPM, but after 3000 RPM the car doesn't respond to the rpm meter increasing, and that means also that when I kickdown the car doesn't go.

Are there anyone can help in this?

i was going to say maybe your clutch is slipping, buts its an auto. Japanese? wha?

so do you mean that your engine speed increases, but the vehicle speed does not change at all?

Not enough info there, but from what I gather, the tranny is not shifting up after a certain point. Could need fluid, or a fluid change, maybe something worse. You'd really have to take it to a transmission mechanic to find out what's going on.

When searching for the problem, I found that I have Knock sensor #2 is faulty, I changed this sensor, this solved some problems but the performace still poor when kick down or when I press the kickdown switch while accelerating.
I mean, when I kick down the tourque is poor and when I continue pressing the kickdown until the 6000rpm all the rpm increasing after about 3500rpm are loosy and the car doesn't accelerate as it should.

Maybe a fuel system/filter issue?
