Need advice

Hollow everyone,
I glad, that found this forum, here I found a lot of interesting information about BMW,
I bought my car about year ago, e36 2.0 liter M50 with vanos 1992.10.22 diamond swartz I have made some modification, like AE, xenon, painted ugly grey side skirts, and bumpers bottoms, repaired some problems. I love to do everything on my own. But now I regret that I didn’t buy 325 or 328 bmw. 320i engine is bit “weak” :)
So I want to hear yours opinion, should I invest money in current car 320i or search for 325i;328i
I am thinking to install a full obc, original 17 wheels, “m” bumpers and side skirts, 15% tinted windows, tail lights whit white “turns”, strut brace, KN air filter, and etc.
Thanks to all for you opinion :) and sorry for bad English

Your english is much better than some. lol. and welcome to UB.c

If it were me, I would sell the 320i and buy the 325 or 328 or M3. In my opinion the stock power of those motors would keep you happy... for a while :)

^^^ No matter what you buy after a while you will always start to desire more power.

Buy a bigger engined car, and please, please, don't "M" your non-M car. Please?

I second this!

Thank you all for the warm welcome, :)
I agree the fact that 2 liter engine is just to weak for e36, and non economical, he burns petrol as 2.5 engine, and if you want to drive fast with 320 you need to push acc down to the bottom very hard, and I think it’s nor very good to your car and in a wile it gets annoying
On otherwise, I talked with my friend, and we considered about buying e30 327 (325e) and making same engine rebuild and tune.
All we need is a free garage for a couple of moth tools, and the most important FREE TIME

When you say engine rebuild do you mean swap? Because the 325e isn't all that fast.. jw

^hes thinking of the 2.7liter conversion, i'm not sure of the details but with some mixing and matching of parts you can get output up so it should be faster then your run of the mill 325e.

Welcome and I would go with something with a little more power and modify that to your needs. I like your e30 idea.

Dr1ve4fun 03-06-2007 03:41 AM

Oh ok thats a good idea then :)

mtm 03-06-2007 05:49 AM

when i said rebuild and tune :) i had i mind to modify :)
we would need to remove 325e engine head and install engine head from 325i, also we would change pistons and crankshaft bearings from 325i, when we will need larger fuel injectors, we can instal them from the 3.5 liter engine, fuel presure controler and air flow rod ant other parts,
in my country all parts i could get for ~800 dolars
only problem is free time :(

What country? And we'd love to see some pictures if possible :)

I live in Lithuania,
for today it's only a project, now we are searching for e30 325e in a good condintion, it‘s a bit dificult to find, there is one guy who sells 1988 325e he want‘s for it ~ 1100 dolars in my exchange it would be 2800 lt litas and he give another car 1986 325i for spare parts
but the vechicle is in poor condintion, on the body are couple places with rust and, the owner is young gyu from small town, so i think the engine will be „tired“
now i can post only some pictures of my e36 320i coupe

IMHO, buy the car you want and go from there if you want to mod it... unless you have a back up car and the extra cash AND it's a hobby.
