Security not letting 328i start.

I've been looking around and I cant find anything on this. When I bought my '96 328i the aftermarket alarm on it had been disabled by someone else by cutting wires, I wish I had know that before hand. Ever since I bought it I have had problems with my car not starting once in a while it gets real old. I have traced the problem down to the fuel pump not kicking on and there is no spark. Does anyone know what could be down to solve or even what is causing these problems? I just replaced the fuel filter 2 days ago also.

When I run direct power to the pump it runs but fuel still doesnt not make it to the fuel rail. It turns over but doesnt even try to start.

This is something that happens often and I cant figure it out. Ive heard it could be a immobiliser but I have no clue where that is or how to bypass that. The factory alarm is gone and I have no remotes. I would really appriciate someone helping me figure out the problem.

Replace the fuel pump. Maybe its worn out? If not it sounds like you a short in your alarm system? Im not sure how those years alarm works(or an after market). Can you remove the old alarm? Maybe that will fix the problem?

Looks like you may have two issues:

1) Something, possibly an alarm relay, is breaking the electrical connection to the fuel pump. To diagnose this, you'll have to trace the circuit from the fusebox to the pump. For details on the wiring, see if my article helps: http://www.unitedbimmer.com/forums/t...placement.html

2) Are you sure the pump runs when you apply direct power? It may make noise, but it doesn't necessarily mean it's pumping fuel. Next, if the fuel isn't making it to the rail, then check the fuel pressure regulator. There is no alarm component that will cut off the actual fuel passage; this is done electrically, as mentioned above in #1.
