E21, E30General discussion and technical help for 1975-1991 3 series cars.
Went to the track today and got my 1/4 mile time. I don't think I did too bad considering I missed 2nd. Could you guys tell me your times if you know'em? I may get down as low as 13.3 or 13.4.. depending on the weather etc.. I think the mods are worth the $$!
Nice. As "X" said, that's an excellant blast for missing second & yes mods are definetly indicated.
NOTE: don't get addicted to the track, lol - it can be hazardous to your wallet IE: the faster you want to go the more expensive the mods get.
My Budget '05:
485 cu motor - $9600.00
twin holley dominators - $960.00
gaskets, hardware,misc-$1875.00
Wow, 10+ seconds? Very impressive and expensive. Yea, I know the mods get really pricey.. but it gets addictive when you realize what's possible! I've got a few bucks saved and was thinking about more mods, but I may need to just get another car. Not sure which yet.

Keep in mind - the more "track mods" you do, the less "street friendly" your car becomes. Another car is your best bet to have the best of both worlds. (again, more $$$)
Yea, crappy reaction time on that run. Lost precious time. As far as mods go, I was thinking about more aggressive cams, updating my chip, maybe a rear end change(?) not quite sure on that issue. I called Turner Motorsports and they told me to bring it up and they'll give me some ideas. They did do my current mods 3 years ago (01 M3 motor, chip, clutch, Brembo brakes, etc.) and I'm happy, but still hungry for more power. I know for sure that I want a 6 speed gear box though. Maybe I should take off some weight? Please give me some suggestions as the cost isn't that big a factor..

^if you dont mind me asking, how much did all of their work set you back? Im thinking of swaping an engine into another e30 at some point so i'm just curious.
