as for that wire..not sure.

i kinda agree since it intakes air from behind the headlight. if you get another cone/k&n filter like the one you have, it may be a waste with sucking up that dirt all the time.

altho you can easily clean out a k&n, but i think you would have to do that an awful lot.

At this point I'm kind of thinking of just getting a k&n and cleaning it every week..It isn't too big of a deal since I have alot of time to do tings with...

damit..I knew I shouldn't go to autozone..The guy took the filter to the back and supposedly measured it..and told me what to get from one of the aisles..well..it fits on a 3'' thing..but the adapter for the old one is smaller..I think it's 2.5 idk though cus I can't find something to measure it with..so..now I need to order something off the internet because no store here even carries one under 3'' or the adapter..damit.

Does anyone know how much the horsepower is increased with a regular K&N filter as well as a K&N cone filter over a regular filter?

If I were you, I would try to get an original filter from an e-30 not a K&N .

not a whole lot. it is so small, it may not be very noticeable.

An K&N replacement won't get you anything noticable. A K&N cone will make your intake make more noise but probably will not give you any results, maybe with a good exhaust you could get some gain but it would still be relatively small.

Hi I cannot see your pictures. If you are using a K&N filter I would bin it and go back to the original. The original filter is only bringing in air from the front of the car at the headlights (which is cool)where as the K&N is bringing in air from the engine bay(which is hot).
