I don't like hazard lights...

Ok..so I was screwing around in my car and it started raining and I was getting bored waiting for the rain to stop so i started to play with the lights..I turned the four ways on and then the dam button got stuck. So after trying to get it unstuck for a good five minutes I finally get it. THEN being the idiot that I am I push the button again to make sure it doesn't get stuck again... well...it got stuck again and I couldn't get it unstuck. I ended up reaching through the hole where my radio would be since circuit city sucks..and popped the thing out. Then I tried to get it unstuck a little more and failed. So I disconected the button part so the lights would quit flashing. Now that I told you all of that what do you guys think a new one would cost from bmw..I don't know that I would want an old one from a scrap yard (it might get stuck) edit: I forgot to say now the button half is sitting next to me at the computer and I still can't get it...

Yeah but I was kind of afraid it will get stuck too..I guess I will just push it to make sure...I just got it unstuck though...I hit it on a corner of my desk...but I'm not pushing it in again . I just won't use them unless I get a new button.

or you can get it from bavauto. $44.95 there.

Part # : 61 31 1 380 347

i have the same problem with my defroster switch. i smack it with my knuckle to get it to come out. sometimes, i use the remote for my head unit to smack it too. i plan on replacing it. that button is $31.95

in my other E30, the fog light button was the same way.

edit: its around $41 - $45 on other sites too. i know i have heard you can recondition these things, but to me its just not worth it.

I didn't even think about cheking them..My fog light button does it too but I can get it to come out..I'll probably buy a new one eventually..Does't seem that important to me to have the button.

^^^ i wonder if the load and pin layouts of the fog button and the hazard buton are the same, then you can just swap em. maybe. . .

edit: i just thought, they wont be the same. the hazard button has a light in it.

you may want to try BMA. They usually have great pricing compared to other places

I have the same problem with my defrost and have heard stories of it getting stuck on and the rear window getting too hot and shattering. Usually I can get it out with soem fumbling. Also trying at different times of the day can be helpful. One day mine wouldn't come out, the next afternoon i tried and it came right out.

Thinking about it I think it may have been stuck from the humidity...My car hates it when it is humid...When I first got the car the button worked perfectly..so that might be part of it..
