won' start
Hi,
I have a '87 325 with approx. 250,000 miles on it. It won't start without a little 2+2 in the intake and 80+ degree weather.
Is this a cold start valve problem? Where is the cold start valve? Can it be cleaned or does it have to be replaced? Otherwise when it runs it runs great! Thanks for any help in advance! Rob

i'd clean your injectors and check the cold start valave. not sure on cleaning but i'd assume you can. take the hoses off and shoot a little carb/choke cleaner through it and let it dry out. put it back in and see what happens. injectors you may not notice holding your car back while running but will definitely make starting an issue if combined with other minor issues.
better description of what happens would be good, ie. does it just crank, does it sound like it wants to turn over but won't kick,...etc

When it runs it doesn't miss .Its pulls pretty strong in all gears. When it wont start it just cranks. If you could please tell me where the cold start valve is . I will clean it up this weekend and get back to you with the results. Thanks again , Rob
